On Vacation!

I’ll be away from SL for the next two weeks if anyone is desparate to reach me.  You can email me at phoenixchapman [at] gmail.com and I can check that occasionally and reply if I can.  Otherwise, notecards in-world are your best bet for me to contact you when I return!

Be good and don’t release any more new skin lines while I’m gone!  I’m already totally skint from all the amazing skins I’ve had to get recently!

Calling All Shoe Designers

Are you a shoe designer looking for inspiration?

Look no further!  These lovely designer boots are calling our names!

Someone please make them? Pretty please with supple leather lining on top?

Ohmai System Skirt!

Anya Ohmai has come out with some simple system skirt dresses, and they’re gorgeous!  They made me feel colourful and playful, so I chose my looks accordingly.

Available in an astounding variety of colours, and on every possible layer, the Basics One-Piece should not be missed!  It can be worn as a dress or a romper, but I decided to just show it like this.  And if you want to see a very cute romper pic, check out Anya’s Flickr stream!

Long Awkward Pose!

Dove Swanson of Long Awkward Pose has finally finally made some new poses for release, and all I have to say is YAY, they’re awesomesauce!

The two sets are called Model School 1 & 2, and they’re really well done.  With a minimum of body distortion, and a maximum of cool sexiness, they’re going to be on high rotation for a while in my pose stands.

They move smoothly from one pose to the next, which is an absolute must for any pose set I use.  Really, there’s not a lot to say except how much I love them.  I went to the store and I didn’t see them, so I don’t think they’re released yet, but they should be soon!  Stay tuned to LAP’s updater group for the release news! (It won’t take a group slot, so if you’re not in, go to it!)

Teleport to LAP.

Oh Alyson

Belleza has finally released the Alyson skins, and I had a major skingasm when I first put them on.  I’ve been drooling over them since creator Tricky Boucher sent out a pre-release teaser to his group members.

Look at this face!  She’s so gorgeous and innocently sweet, though maybe she’s just luring you in with a false sense of security.  Either way, you fall in love with her smattering of freckles and softly kissable lips.  Well, I did anyway.

The Beautiful Ingenue, Part One

Though I don’t often wear clothes that you can find on Mad Men, I do love how classy and beautiful they are, and ultra feminine.  Betty Doyle of Ingenue makes classic styles for the chic retro woman in all of us, and she’s just started making shoes!  She also does system skirts like nobody’s business.

I have never made a secret of how much I really love the system skirt.  It is so beautiful when done well, and incredibly sexy.  To me it is, anyhow.  Ella is a casual day dress with a plunging V neckline and a wide wrap waist.  It comes in several colours in a floral print, and the little cap sleeves finish it off nicely.  These dresses are L$250 each.

A Week of Top Fives: Gowns, Day Seven

I very rarely wear gowns in SL anymore, but that doesn’t seem to stop me from wanting it when I see one that’s really beautiful.  There’s so many styles of gowns, from the ultra funky to the wedding gown.

Phoenix Rising has some really gorgeous gowns, and I can’t believe I hadn’t ever heard of them until a couple of months ago.  I completely missed out on these beautiful dresses when they were released, but I’m definitely caught up now!  Natasja’s Seduction is lovely gown with a huge black skirt, and the bodice comes in several colours.  Now, while I do work for Phoenix Rising, I wouldn’t blog anything or work anywhere I didn’t love.  And the key necklace comes with the dress.  And I love key necklaces.

I know I’ve blogged the Icing Joli Bouquet dress before because I absolutely adore it.  I own every colour now, and I wish there were more!  I love the train especially, though if you’re not a fan of trains, it comes with a skirt without the train.  The roses at the waist are a perfect embellishment as well.

I recently bought the Ingenue Harlow dress for a different blog post, but I had to pull it from that one to instead blog it for my top five picks.  It’s different, bold and infinitely gorgeous.  I need to go back and get the rest of the colours now.  I wasn’t sure how much I loved it when I saw it and only got the one colour!

I used to work for Blaze as a greeter.  In fact, it was the first job I ever had in SL, and I got it about a month after I rezzed.  It saved me from having to do any of the standard things some people do to make money, like stripping or working in a hideous club.  I’m really not a big fan of clubs in SL.  The only one I ever liked was Seven Ultra Lounge.  Anyhow….the Gem gown is my all-time favourite one.  Look how sexy it is from the front and the back!  Blaze is a master at gowns, and I miss him being around and releasing more pretty stuff!

Now, I know that was my top five, but I couldn’t do a gowns post and not mention Last Call.  I know Last Call is gone, and Ginny too (may he rest in peace), but there was a reason Last Call went out on top.  The gorgeous texturing and details, the prim work…all spectacular.  I know a lot of people have maybe gotten rid of their Last Call items, but those people are nuts.  Or maybe I’m a packrat.  Whatever.  I will never get rid of any of it, never!

Well, it took me more than a week.  It may have taken me more than two weeks.  But my top five in seven different categories series is finally finished yay!  Now I just have to finish my series on shoes over on On Your Toes, and then I won’t feel like such a blogging slacker.

A Week of Top Fives: Sweaters, Day Six

One of my favourite things in the world to wear is a nice, cozy sweater, both in RL and SL.  My collection in SL is vast, and it’s like a sickness or something.  Even if I have one that’s virtually the same already, I have to get it.  In Fatpack, of course.

So you can imagine how incredibly difficult it was to narrow it down to just five.  And especially when you consider all the categories of sweatshirts and sweaters I have.  But here they are!

Nyte’N'Day has some of the cutest sweaters around, and I very nearly picked the newest cropped sweater cuz it’s so pretty, but in the end I had to stick with my old standby, the Snug sweater.  I really really like argyle patterns, and this one is so perfectly done in the spirit of the sweater’s style.  It comes in some great bold colours too.

Ahhh, the hoodie.  The classic casual wear for ultimate comfort.  Sand Shack Surf Co’s Vintage Fall Hoodie comes in two styles for every colour, with the graphic and without.  I’m not really a big fan of logo items in either life (unless it’s Vuitton, not that I can afford that!), so I’m appreciative of designers who offer non-logo versions.  This logo isn’t actually too bad though, it’s faded and weathered just right in keeping with the hoodie’s style.

LeLutka has been making a lot of my top five posts!  It’s not without good reason though, I really love most of what they create.  This sweater was released sometime during my SL hiatus, but it’s a classic style that could be worn forever and still look interesting.  I adore the drape over the front.  My boobs are too big for it, but it was easy peasy to adjust it.

My friend Phemie is seriously stylish.  Every time I see her, I have to inspect something she’s got on, then immediately go buy it.  I first saw her wearing this Kiitos Lentotahti sweater and I fell in love with the fantastic texturing and casual coolness of it.

And finally, the Fri.day short cardi.  With three different sleeve styles and eleventy billion colours to choose from, it’s a wardrobe staple that is so versatile it can be worn with anything.  I tend to layer it over a top and sometimes under a jacket, but as you can see it’s very sexy and cool worn all by itself too.

Alrighty, down to one more post in my Top Five series wooooo!  Stay tuned for gowns later on today!

Other items worn:  All skins are Ife by LeLutka.  All hair is by Truth.  All jeans are Dana 76 by Decoy.

A Week of Top Fives: Jeans, Day Five

Jeans are a staple in everyone’s inventory, and everyone has their favourite pair.  Whether they make your ass look smokin’ hot or they’re perfectly worn in and so comfy you feel like you’re wearing pajamas, everyone also has their own reasons for loving the jeans they do.

League’s Garage jeans have that perfect hint of dirty in them, to make you feel like you really have been hanging out in a garage all day.  They come with a bandanna to stick in the back pocket, though I’ve never actually worn that.  You can also wear them with turned up cuffs too, for summertime.

The Dutch Touch Basic Jeans are some of my all-time favourites.  They come with both long pant legs and a rolled version, and in a few different colours.  I love the double belt loops at the top, as it’s a bit different to other jeans around the grid, and of course your ass looks bangin’ in these!

Maitreya’s Boyfriend Jeans are meant for you, but they’re obviously ripped right off your boyfriend’s long lean legs!  A belt is needed to hold them in place, and they come with two versions of rolled cuffs.  This is the pair of jeans I wanted so bad last year, and was amongst one of my first purchases when I returned to SL this October.

Nyte’N'Day recently came out with these Essential Jeans, and essential they are.  Nyte made lots of different basic washes and textures, as well as a couple of different pant leg options.  These are vital additions to your inventory!

So Decoy has always been in my top fives for everything, including favourite stores.  Annette’s jeans let you have a fantastic ass, and her latest release, Dana 76, is no exception.  I also love that she includes several styles of pant legs so if you’re wearing flats or heels, the pants will look perfect.

Next will be my top five sweaters!

A Week of Top Fives: Jewelry, Day Four

OMG.  I can’t believe how long it’s taking me to get these blog posts out.  I so have not felt like blogging at all, I lost all my mojo. Breakups suck, is all I’m saying.

So today it’s all about the jewelry.  The items I mostly always forget to wear.  But there is so many beautiful pieces, and so many great designers it was tough to decide which to feature as my top five.

Muse, though now an inactive store (*sniff*), still has some of the best-made and beautiful jewelry around.  I love the textures used on her pearls especially, so I am showing the Margaux necklace.  One good thing about her store being so quiet is that I can buy all the older stuff I didn’t have already, because back in the day I didn’t buy fatpacks.  If I had to choose, though, I’d choose for Caliah to come back!

Paper Couture has been featured on my blog recently, but that’s because their jewelry is absolutely amazing!  My rings folder is almost all Paper Couture.  I don’t even know what else to say except GO GET IT.  And if you’re looking for older pieces, they keep all that stuff on XStreet.

Luc is sadly another store that seems to be inactive.  Why do these amazing jewelry designers seem to go away and stop making stuff?  Though I *suppose* I can understand the need to take a break from SL, I just hope they come back too.  Luc, rebranded from Earthtones, makes so many different styles of jewelry, but somehow it’s still all very recognizable as his work.

I really love Zaara’s jewelry.  It’s really unique and very pretty, and there’s so many items that are so versatile, dressing up a casual outfit or adding the special touch to something far more formal.

And finally, we have Mandala, one of my favourite new stores ever.  I love virtually everything in there and every time I go I find something new to wear.  I recently splurged on the fatpack of the Pearl Rain sets, these are just so beautiful.

Well, day four is done!  OMG I don’t think I’ll ever finish this series, but if I do two or more blog posts today, forgive me, ‘kay?
