Fri.day is consistently one of my top five stores to shop in. For layerable versatility, there’s really no one doing it better. Every week, on Fridays of course, I look forward to their new releases with a kind of rabidity of the truly obsessed fan.

This week was no exception to the awesomeness.

The Spring Bloom dress is so lovely and perfect for spring, which it’s starting to feel like where I am. It’s March in a couple of days and it has not snowed all winter here. So I am hoping, knock wood, that it means it won’t! One can only dream.

So anyhow, where was I…right! The Spring Bloom dress is a short frock with a ruffly skirt and a low cut scoop-necked tank style top. It comes in several different colour combinations and lookit the bow on the back! I love bows. The hair worn with the yellow dress is also a newer one by Fri.day called Miley, and the one on the left is Carrie. I love the casual ponytail styles they keep coming out with and rocking the hell out of!

Also worn:

Skin – Dutch Touch MaAn (left) and Roos (centre/right) \ Shoes – Maitreya Gold Shanti (left), Esprit (right) \ Jewelry – Muse RFL 2008 Heart Lariat (no longer available, sorry!) (left), Whippet & Buck Little Bit of Pretty Necklace (right), Mandala Pearl Rain bracelet \ Poses – Diesel Works.

Another very cute dress released recently is the Sweet Heart dress, shown here in Citrine (left) and Pearl (right). It’s really late and I can’t think of what to say about this dress except look how gorgous! So go get it.

The other week was a good one for hairstyles with flowers in it. First Truth came out with Berry, and then this lovely Marie style came out the next day, with a separately attached bloom (so you can wear it with any hairstyle!) It has to be said that Fri.day has always paid a lot of attention to the small details and making sure that their customers get their money’s worth. The flower comes with 3 different attachment point options!

Also worn:

Skin – Dutch Touch Amber \ Shoes – LeLutka Saffron pumps \ Jewelry – I’m not going to tell you because looking at this photo now, it kinda looks like it didn’t rez properly but I’m not going back to redo the photo now! \ Poses – Reel Expression.

The comfy cardigan is one of my favourite releases this year. I’m such a sweater whore. The jeans are also one of the newer releases, and look at the cute pockets on them! They do a booty good.

Under the sweater, I’m wearing the Fri.day Basic Cami in white, and this colour is only available as a freebie at the Sunny sim. Yes, that’s right, a freebie. This is one of the best cute camis, and I love that it’s not *too* low cut, so it’s good for layering under cardigans like this! My hair is the brand new effortly classy Summer hair, and I didn’t think of it at the time, but the flower from the Marie hair would be perfect with this to sort of dress it up a bit!

Take the taxi to Fri.day and check out their latest springtimey looks!

Also worn:

Miko Omegamu, the designer of Icing, has recently returned to SL® after a summer-long hiatus, and she’s jumped right back into creating and designing vintage-inspired outfits and dresses for those who love to look a little bit retro.

With Halloween fast approaching, Icing has released two outfits based on classic symbols of the 20′s: the cigarette girl (left) and the camera girl (right). These girls would walk around the nightclubs and ask patrons if they wanted cigars, cigarettes or their photos taken. (Where’s the cocktail waitress, Miko? ) These outfits come with amazing accessories for authenticity, like the cigarette tray and camera, not to mention lovely hats to complete the ensemble.

In the centre is previously-released Ship Shape, a nautical bikini, with a coverup miniskirt and sailor hat. I know it’s not exactly seasonal in the Northern Hemisphere, but there are still some warm days where I live on the West Coast, and no doubt it’s warming up in Australia as they head into summer.

This has to be one of my very favourite released anywhere lately. I don’t wear formal wear often, but when I do, I want it to be spectacular. And Joli Bouquet definitely delivers. The rose corsage on the hip is a beautiful touch, and it works very well with a recent Truth hair release, aptly named Rose.

The dress comes with two skirt options, one being a train! It’s incredibly beautiful, and makes one feel beautiful wearing it, even if you’re wearing it when you’re, oh, I dunno, cleaning your oven? Yes, even if you have nowhere to go, you can still wear it!

Marilyn Monroe is iconic, even today, and I don’t think there’s a person alive who doesn’t remember that picture. Miko has recreated that dress in four colours, the above being white, and it comes complete with a grate and a gesture for the skirt to blow up!

Goodnight Kiss, on the right, is a sweet simple dress with flutter sleeves and an above-knee-length skirt. Included with it is a single rose accessory for your hair, which sets it off nicely.

Miko is a bit of a throwback to the past in both her style and her prices. While most of her peers are pricing outfits and costumes above her very reasonable average price of L$300 (most below, some slightly above), she stands fast, which makes me happy in the pants! I am but a poor blogger, after all.

Teleport to Icing!

Elate is a new-to-me store that I discovered when I went to the Decoy grand opening a little while ago. I heard that there was a really cute free dress at this store, so of course I went to check it out….and in true Phoe fashion, I didn’t leave without spending some cash!

Felicity is a ruffled, flirty tiny dress perfect for a night out with that special thing, or even just hitting your favourite club (are there any cool clubs anymore?!) with your girlfriends. The texturing is great, and I was really stoked to learn that the ruffles are on separate pieces so I could adjust them to fit me easier. I hate fitting prims but this was pretty painless. It comes in 10 colours at L$300 each, or you can spring for the fatpack for L$2100.

Now the dress on the left is the freebie, Silvia, which was, ummmm, there when I took this picture, but seems to be gone now. So…umm suck it losers? Kidding. You could always come get one or five of the other colours which sell for L$275 each, or in a fatpack for L$1000. I kinda want it actually, but I couldn’t get it. They’re really cute and the colours are well-chosen.

In the centre, I am wearing Raeva in Fire. It only comes in two colours, this and Black with red piping. They’ll each set you back L$220. I love the lace peeking out of the bodice, very sexy. If you the cleavage enhancers, pow! Youd’ be hit on. A lot.

Mae, in white, is also one of two colours, the other being Black on Black. I love it because it’s so simple and tailored but also extremely feminine. It’d be perfect for a day out shopping *cough*, which is why I paired it with a purse to carry the fistful of Lindens for spending! Each dress is only L$200.

Finally, this is the very first dress that caught my eye, and the pink one, no less! That’s totally not the first colour you’d think of when it comes to me, but there you go.

Each colour comes with two top options, cream or the tonal colour. I like having options like that, and I wish more designers would do it. It makes it feel like a bit of a new outfit when you change it up, which is good if you’ve been away for a year and have to go slow on acquiring all the lovelies you missed out on while you were gone. The fish-scale skirt is short and super sexy. The single prim to change was easy peasy to line up too, which can sometimes be a problem with patterned skirts. Eight colours are available at L$275 each, or again, the fatpack is L$1600.

It’s so sad that I only managed to penetrate the first row of clothes at Elate, but there are sooooo many other cute and pretty dresses, skirts and outfits there, so there’s definitely something for everyone. I know I’ll have this in my landmarks folder for later spending!

Visit Elate!

Credits:

Hair – Truth, all of it, in Chocolate. From left to right, top to bottom: Rose, Charlotte, Ruby, Katey, and Katy

Shoes – Maitreya, again for all of them. Wow, that’s weird. But from left to right, top to bottom: Esprit, Sassy, Neyya, IXkin and Shanti

Skin – Rockberry Uma in Light, makeup ‘E’ in top and middle photos, and Cake Bella in Vancouver, makeup 14 in bottom photo

Necklace in top photo is Mandala (gawd, couldn’t you just buy that entire store with no buyer’s remorse!) Lotus in Black. In bottom photo, worn with Penelope in pink is the Muse Orchid necklace

Purse – Celestial Studios Hobo bag in Patent White

I’ve mentioned it before, but I have to say it again. Nyte’N'Day is the first place I really shopped at and loved when I first rezzed nearly three years ago. I still love her stuff, and I wear it all the time. Even in my blog header I’m wearing a sweater by Nyte’N'Day.

The Toast sweater comes in six made-for-Fall colours, and it’s cozy and warm and just gorgeous. I love the zippers, and it makes me feel warm just looking at it, cuz I gotta say it’s cold in my apartment! I even located the heater control and turned it on, but nope, it’s not warm enough for me. Anyhow, so if I had this sweater on in my real life, I think I’d be really warm. And snuggly.

The Spun lacy tank is cute and sexy. There are six colours, each with a choice of white or black lace. So if you’re staying inside the skybox with that special someone, you can wear this and keep the temperature heated enough to keep you both warm.

This dress is probably the teeniest, tiniest dress I’ve ever let my avatar wear in SL. Well…maybe not. But it’s really short. And it’s open on the side, making it even more revealing and sexy. But what it lacks in the length, it makes up in the top, which has a turtleneck and is completely proper. Makes it just this side of hooch.

When you’re lounging around the house in your lingerie, having pillow fights with your girlfriends til it goes a bit too far.. (come on, guys, you know that’s totally how you picture the girls hanging out!), you can wear the Filigree corsety thing. I love the lace accents, though I think I personally like it better without the garter and stockings. I love the colours it comes in, and the detailing is really nice and well-done.

If you haven’t been to Nyte’N'Day lately, you should definitely go down and take a look. You’ll be pleased and a lot more broke when you leave!

Skin Worn: Rockberry Farrah B in light \ Lashes: Cake Pillow Lashes \ Hair: (1st pic) Truth – Belinda in Chocolate, (2nd pic) Truth – Madison in Chocolate, (3rd pic) 69 – Omnia 10 in Brown, (4th pic) Truth – Tanya in Chocolate \ Jeans: Decoy Genesis 10 in Midnight \ Boots: Bax Coen Prestige Boots in White \ Jewelry: Muse Margaux in White, Muse Claris bracelet in White with Gold, Muse Pearl Cocktail Ring in White & Gold \ Poses – Reel Expression and Long Awkward Pose.
