The Smexy pose set is just that, a full set of 10 poses designed to show off your sexy and sultry side, and the switching between poses is standard & smooth.

5th & Oxford has put on a sale for nearly everything in their store at 50% off! This is the biggest sale they’ve ever had, according to the information given and it’s a great time to stock up on skins and clothes if you’ve been holding off!

The Diva set (10 poses) doesn’t really seem to be named correctly to me…it seems a lot more fun than Diva-like, but I guess everyone has their idea of diva-tude, right?

There are SO many pose creators at the Pose Fair and I’ve never heard of a lot of them, which is both awesome and overwhelming on the Linden balance. There are too many to feature individually, so I thought I’d put a few of my favourite poses from a few stores that are either new, or new-to-me.

Don’t Freak Out is an awesome name for a store! These poses are from the Full of Secrets series, and I like how they are a bit freer with the arms. I sometimes grow weary of either the legs or the arms being the focus of a specific pose, but hardly ever both, and these work well with my avatar which is also a huge bonus. The switching between poses was smooth too, a requirement for poses I use.

Visit Don’t Freak Out at the Pose Fair

Also Worn:

Hair – Truth Elysium in Chestnut \ Skin – Laqroki Elena 04 in Fair \ Dress – Nyte’N'Day Prost in Black \ Shoes – Maitreya Shanti in Black \ Jewelry – Sigma Lumina in Silver.

Everglow has tons of poses tailored for modeling, and these are but just a few. I’d never heard of this store before the fair, but I’m looking forward to seeing what else comes out of that store. I like the placement of the legs a lot, kinda cute and awkward and splayed.

Visit Everglow at the Pose Fair

Also Worn:

Hair – Truth Bailey in Chestnut (I think) \ Skin – Laqroki Elena 02 in Fair \ Dress/Leggings – Elymode Bandwagon in Red \ Shoes – Maitreya Esprit in Black \ Jewelry – Sigma Opus set in Charcoal.

Grazia Horwitz is premiering her second (that I know of) pose store in the fair, called Geez. I used to buy some of her poses when she had Grapevine at Rue d’Antibes, but then it sort of disappeared. Luckily, you can buy all of those old Grapevine poses at the fair for L$350, over 50 of them, and check out her new poses while you’re at it. She has several mini-sets of poses available, mostly for the girls but one for the boys too. These are my favourites, but from the various sets on offer. I always like a good ass shot!

Visit Geez at the Pose Fair

Also Worn:

Hair – Truth Audrey in Almond \ Skin – Belleza Alyson in Pale \ Dress – Decoy Hot Addiction \ Shoes – Maitreya IXkin in Champagne \ Bracelets – Zaara

MAD Designs mostly has stuff for boys, but for the pose fair they’ve come out with a modeling set for the girls too. They’re fairly basic but just fine for blogging, with poses that work to show off your clothes to their best advantage.

Visit MAD Designs at the Pose Fair

Also Worn:

Hair – Fri.day Joanna 2 in Passionate Red \ Skin – Tuli Eva in Tone 3 \ Dress – Kyoot Celebrity Harness Dress \ Shoes – Maitreya Esprit in Nude \ Jewelry – U&R Dogs Rigoletto bracelet, Isolde ring.

P.S. Makenzie, I totally stole your photo labeling idea. Thank you.

I can’t think of a quippy title. I suck.

Gospel Voom is one of the super talented designer behind GOS, a newish (to me, anyway) store that specializes on amazingly detailed watches and sunglasses, not to mention shoes. There are other non-avatar related items, like furniture, but that’s not what I’m focusing on today. Today, it’s all about the sunglasses because the summer is almost here, and it’s already gorgeous weather here on the west coast.

The Butterfly model is probably my favourite. I kinda like the oversized glasses look in SL, because the real me just does not look good in sunglasses like this. So this is me living vicariously through my avatar. There is a buttload of options for these and all of their glasses, including tons of colours for the lenses, frames, hardware, etc. Opacity is customizable, as is full-bright and glow from off to high.

The Compulsive specs remind me of Bono, except perhaps smaller. If you’re looking for that something special to make your glasses truly unique to you, you can buy an upgrade kit, which are available in a ton of colours for L$60 each, or a fatpack of all of the upgrades for L$500. So if you want zebra-printed frames, you can get them (that’s an example).

And finally, we have Intuition. For these, I got to try out the spray can and omg can I just say this is one of the coolest ideas ever! I applied the Tortoiseshell update, and it gave me Amber lenses as well as the tortoiseshell frames. After making the lenses clear, I’m ready to put on my serious face and kick some corporate ass!

Sizing is also menu-driven, as well as placement. So if you need to move them up or down or all around, you can do that through the menu. This makes me want to perch them up on top of my head!

Each of these pairs sells for L$600, a pretty good deal for such customizable eyewear.

Get down to GOS and check out their sunglasses! On your way, check out the watches and shoes, including their newest release, the Burlesque boots.

Now, I have to say a little something about the backgrounds. These are wall tattoos made by Wine and Roses, a very cool idea to jazz up some otherwise boring walls with a minimum of effort and prim use, but a maximum of cuteness! You can get these at the Wine and Roses mainstore.

Flowers are my passion. I don’t claim to be an expert, but I do love looking at them and even wearing them. AtomicBambi is full of the spring looks in their booth at the Accessory Fair, and I fell in love.

Miss Saigon is a single large rose, so of course you need a large hairstyle to wear it with. Butterflies have been attracted but they’re gorgeous and they work! Thank gawd this is only SL, because in RL butterflies scare me and I’d never let them get this close without running away screaming!

Also worn:

Upper Photo

The Miss Moscow hair corsage is a bit more subdued than Miss Saigon, but that’s okay. Not every look should incude huge roses & butterflies. Sometimes, it should just be a garnish, and not the entree, ya know?

I very rarely post about freebies, and in fact I never do when it’s solely about the one item. There’s simply too much free stuff, and I think having a grid full of freebies & hunts in general is hurting the SL economy and our designers. But that’s another topic for another time.

When I received the latest notice from G-Field, I opened it expecting to not like it, since the colour/style was listed as “shamrock”, but I generally like stuff from G-Field, so I decided to try it on. OMG was I wrong! I absolutely love this dress, and even though it’s specially made for St. Patrick’s Day (my favourite holiday since I cling to any bit of Irish like a drowning leprechaun) and covered in shamrocks, it’s hardly your typical tacky attire.

You can get this at G-Field in their group Subscribe-o-Matic notices.

Make sure to take a look at the rest of the store too because besides beautiful dresses, they make gorgeous shoes!

Also worn: Hair – Maitreya Green II in Caramel \ Skin – Laqroki Pearl 10 in Fair \ Necklace – Zaara Parnini necklace in Clear.

Epoque has some of the best eyeglasses I’ve tried in a long time, and I’m glad I finally got down there to check them out. Leave it to me to have to go to an accessory fair to finally get off my ass out and out of my bubble, but there it is. That is one of the reasons I love fairs – discovering designers and stores I should have discovered a long time ago!

The oversized glasses are perfect for that wicked hangover walk-of-shame the next morning, or ya know, if you’re at some glamorous event or something. Either way, you can hide behind them for that bit of mystery needed in every girl’s life. There are tons of options included in a very easy to use HUD attachment. I got the neutrals pair, which has five lens colours, plus clear if you want to wear them as regular glasses, and you can have them as either solid or faded too.

The Essential glasses should be standard issue in everyone’s inventory. The same HUD as in the Oversized pair was included here, and besides the six lens options, there are also ten different frame colours to choose from. And that’s only in the neutrals pack. There are other sets too if you like bright colours or ya know, just not neutral. In any case, you can’t go wrong with these. And there are demos! Check them out at the Accessory Fair until the 27th of March, or their mainstore anytime!

I sometimes live in a bubble. There, I said it. I do have to admit, I’ve seen the occasional post about Sigma on the Le.Look blog, but it didn’t register or something, I dunno. But I’ve now corrected that gross oversight, and I have to say I’m a little bit in love now. Thank gawd they were at the Accessory Fair when I was checking out the stores or else I would still be in my own head going “la la la…”

The Lumina set, comprised of a necklace and two styles of bracelets, was one of my favourites to discover, as I absolutely love muted metallics. The necklace is casual, cool and layered, which are three very hot looks for me right now. It also comes in other colours, and when you buy it, it’s as a set of two colours, which I think is pretty cool. It was also not too expensive at L$320! There’s soooooo much overly expensive jewelry right now and it’s nice to see a store that is a bit more realistic.

The Perio necklace is made of a couple of different types of smaller beads in several different colours (this is Pink Sea), and it’s a great way to bring together an outfit if you just can’t find the right accessories.

Thought I bought (and love) more than what I am going to show today, I decided the photos have to end sometime. Another of my favourites pieces from the fair is this Amelia necklace. It also comes with two colours per pack \o/ and there are two packs to choose from. This is Terra Lime, part of the Pastels pack, but as you can see it’s not really too pastelly, which I like because well, I’m not a holiday person and I almost always associate pastels with Easter.

If you haven’t seen Sigma at the fair, then you’re missing out. If you’re like me and you’ve never heard of them, then consider this the proverbial slap upside the head and go check them out at their mainstore!

Did you know that in Canada, the days are longer than anywhere else? Particularly on the west coast, where I live….

Okay, that’s not true. But I wanted to explain away the delay in getting out these posts, which was supposed to be daily.

Anyhow, lingerie. The clothing that a lot of “fashionistas” won’t buy, because they won’t ever wear it or have anyone see it. But there’s some really gorgeous lingerie and undies out there, and I buy it and parade around my skybox in it. I don’t care that no one besides me sees it ever. So these are my picks for my most favourite top five.

Fishy Strawberry came out with several different styles fairly recently, and they’re all pretty different and really sexy. The Ignition set is my personal favourite, though all of them are very cute. It comes in tons of colours and it can be worn in several different ways, which I definitely look for when buying lingerie. This can be worn as just a bra and panties without the garters and corset, which also looks super sexy.

Also worn - Skin: LAQ Ania 01 in Fair \ Hair: Fri.day Deena in Timid Brown \ Jewelry: Muse Margaux Draped Pearl Necklace in Black, Muse Celine Pearl Necklace & Earrings in Black, Muse Claris Pearl Bracelet in Black.

For some reason, I only just discovered these new lingerie sets by Blowpop, then of course I went a bit crazy and bought a ton of it! This is the Yvette set, which is simple but gorgeous. Though it is just a bra and panties, it makes your avatar look heaven-bound, emphasizing your curves perfectly. I had to show you the ass shot because your ass looks so great in this!

Also worn – Skin: LeLutka Jade (can’t remember the makeup number) in Dark \ Hair: Truth Lillian in Night \ Jewelry: Zaara Karmuka Necklace in Wood.

Insolence has been one of my favourite lingerie stores forever now, though I heard camilla was AFK for a very long time (though it was during my absence, so it worked out just fine for me ). This is one of the first sets I ever bought, but I still love it every bit as much as I did that first day, though there are lots of other, newer, probably more technically excellent lingerie sets. Alice is available in several different colours, this being brown. The bra shows off your cleavage just spectacularly too!

Also worn – Skin: Belleza Jesse group gift \ Hair: Truth Candice in Chestnut \ Jewelry: Earthstones.

I adore Casa del Shai, especially their lingerie which there is just not enough of. It’s always got some little detail that makes it a bit more special to me; this Adriana set has a black system skirt which makes it okay for a sexy naughty secretary type outfit, not to mention the cool key on the corset binder.

Also worn – Skin: Eclat (Ara’s Makeup – not sold) \ Hair: Truth Grace in Treacle \ Jewelry: Paper Couture

And finally, we have Zaara‘s newest release, the Kanti set. There are tons of little details in this set that I adore: the mesh panel on the back of the panties, the fact that the stockings don’t have lace at the top, which I do also like but I have too much of, and the fabulous decollatage of the bra. She promises this to be the first in a series, and I look forward to seeing what else she comes out with.

Also worn – Skin: L.Fauna Lapine in Pale \ Hair: Maitreya Zoe in Chocolate \ Jewelry: Paper Couture.

Skins are the second love of my SLife. God, I really hate that word “SLife” and I swear I never use it anywhere else for anything else, but it’s apt here. I spend a lot of money on skins, because like clothes, I tend to like the fatpacks. If I like a skin enough to buy it, I like it enough to buy it in fatpack. I wear a lot of different skins, so much so that my best friend says he probably couldn’t pick me out of a photo if he was handed one and not told who it was, though he could pick out others, even though they tend to change skins too (I guess not as often as me!).

It was incredibly hard to pick out five, but then I remembered: I’m not picking out the five “best” of anything – I’m picking out my personal top five favourites. They may not be the best in any category, but they look good on me and I like them, so there you go. Your mileage may vary. If I was willing to bend my own rules though, I’m sure there’d be five more skins in this blogpost. But instead, honourable mentions will go to: Aden’s Gen5, which tbh I have no idea if it has a real name but it’s really pretty, Tuli’s Bella skin, Cake‘s Bella skin, L.Fauna‘s new skin line Lapine, Rockberry‘s Uma and Farrah (and maybe Jules, which I haven’t tried yet) and Belleza’s Jesse.

First is Laqroki (aka LAQ)’s Ania skin. This is one of her more recent releases in the Glow series. I love the face and I find it very soft and pretty. Talk about cheap, too! The entire fatpack of like 10 makeups was less than 2K, and it’s my understanding that it’s because really only the face is new, though I could be wrong about that. Really, all that meant was I could get the entire Ania collection, in all three skintones (fair, peach and nougat, worn here). That’s my deep, dark secret, until now. No one knew I bought all three tones.

Hair: Fri.day – Kate \ Lingerie: Zaara – Kanti.

LeLutka‘s been on a roll lately, releasing one great skin line after the other, while launching a fabulous new experimental fashion collection inbetween. I really liked Eclat (aka Oksana), but the thicker eyebrows were not for the faint of heart. The thinner eyebrows on Estelle, released not all that long after Oksana, were a bigger hit and I haven’t seen many avatars who don’t look pretty in this skin.

Hair: Maitreya – Alex \ Lingerie: Insolence.

Dutch Touch‘s Jolie is a goddess-like skin. I was late in getting Cleo, which I loved. I was late in getting River, which I loved more. But then Jolie came out and I was like “Cleo, River, what, who?” Jolie is amazingly beautiful, with tons and tons of makeups and lots of skintones (including a dark one, yay!), but is apparently going to be outdone hopefully soon by Gwen, which I’ll happily whore myself out to get a sneak peek of.

Hair: Maitreya – Zoe \ Lingerie: Fishy Strawberry – Ignition \ Ring – Paper Couture.

Alyson is a pre-release group gift from Belleza, and it’s not out in the store yet. But Alyson is like Belleza’s own gorgeous Jesse’s younger, fresher, wide-eyed innocent little sister. I’m really looking forward to seeing the entire lineup and I hope that’s in the very near future. I was in the update group, which you have to pay L$250 to be in, and one night just before the holidays I went a little crazy in my group list and left nearly every group I could, Belleza being one of them. Then the very next day I heard there was a skin gift in there, and I could’ve kicked myself for leaving early! It’s a permanant fixture now, though.

Hair: Lamb – Baby’s Got Back \ Lingerie: Elymode – Halter Tank & Shorties (this colour was limited, but there’s other pretty colours).

And finally, we have yet another group gift pre-release, this time Tuli‘s lovely Eva. I’ve been gushing over this one for a while now because it’s all I can do to just wait semi-patiently until it’s in the store. I wear this most often lately, and the fresh clean makeup look is perfect for everything I wear. I feel like going to Tuli’s sim and just standing there, waiting at the doors going “open open open” like that old commercial for some store in the US that I can’t ever remember the name of.

Hair: Truth – Lillian \ Lingerie – Blowpop – Yvette.

I’ve noticed that several bloggers seem to want to post their favourites lately, and of course I’m not one to miss bandwagons! Okay, okay, I know I miss them constantly, but that’s only because I’m lazy.

Last year, I did a weekly series, with posts dedicated to showcasing one particular item of a genre. This year, I’m not going to be that ambitious, just because I don’t spend as much time in SL as I did last year.

So today, it’s all about my top five favourite hairstyles. Now, there is obviously a ton of haird I love and wear constantly, but these are the ones I seem to pull out all the time when I have like one minute to put together an outfit that doesn’t look like I spent only one minute putting together the outfit (and now I seem to have blown my cover so I’ll have to figure out some new stand-bys )

Now, Edie is a brand-new hairstyle, but no less an absolute staple in my inventory. Truth is my superhero when it comes to hair. This is hands-down my favourite ponytail in SL. I hope next is a version with bangs, and without the braid, and with bangs with the braid….

Worn in this photo is L.Fauna‘s Lapine Berry in Pale and LeLutka‘s Turtleneck Sweater in Grey.

I think Maitreya does the best messy updo’s in all of SL. Green is one of my favourites, though it was a close call with Zoe, again by Maitreya. I couldn’t decide. I want to have Onyx’s bedheaded prim babies.

Speaking of prim babies, one of my friends recently told me that her ironically purchased and only-kept-to-freak-out-her-friends prim baby was named after her favourite skin creator, Gala Phoenix. So Gala, if you’re listening, you have a huge fan. If you IM me, I’ll tell you her name!

Otherwise worn in this photo is Laq‘s Ania 02 in Peach, and Elate‘s Tuli sweater dress in Burnt Orange.

I’m in love with this short hairstyle, again by Truth. Don’t worry, he doesn’t appear again on my love letter to the hairstylists of the grid. This is Grazia, named after his partner (though I think he made it before they were partnered), the divine Ms. Horwitz. It comes in two flavours, and while I love both of them, this one is just a wee bit better.

Also worn is the Alyson group gift in Pale, by Belleza (a skin I’m eagerly anticipating) and Gettin’ Horizontal in Cherry by Mischief.

There are so many long hairstyles in SL that it’s practically impossible to choose just one for this list. But I gave it a try. Lamb Bellic makes some of the best dos and textures around, and Poppyseed is one of the best really long styles I’ve seen in a while. The little braid is so cute too.

LeLutka‘s Estelle is my skin of choice in this photo, in Makeup 2D in the Light tone, and the Fri.day Basic Cami in Navy Dot.

And last, but not least, is Fri.day’s Tatum hair, which is probably my most favourite updo right now. The bangs are awesome, as are all the bangs that Fri.day does, and it strongly reminds me of Elika’s work. I miss Elika. Where’s Elika? Sadface.

Sorry, got lost in a tangent there for a moment. Tatum also comes in two flavours, for those who like the straight bangs, and then those who don’t can wear the Tatum II style with the bangs pinned to the side.

Worn in this photo is the amazingly tantalizing Eva skin in Tone 3, a current group gift (unless it’s dropped out of the notices by now, which is distinctly possible) by Tuli, the Chandy earrings by Paper Couture and the black turtleneck by Coco, another group gift of days gone by, though this one is still on the wall in her store, as far as I know.

So that’s it, my top five hairstyles currently on the grid. Did I miss any? Did I make a huge mistake with one of these styles?

Poses by Long Awkward Pose and Reel Expression.
